Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra's plan to take legal action against the ruling-Democrat Party at the World Court is too soon since his graft cases have yet to be resolved, Democrat spokesman Buranat Samutharak said on Sunday.
Mr Buranat said the Democrat Party had never intervened in the justice system, especially in the 258 million baht donation case. The party has been accused of taking a 258 million baht donation from TPI Polene, a listed company, through a third party which violates the constitution."Ousted premier Thaksin's message on Twitter saying that he would lead Thailand back to democracy without resorting to violence is contradictory," Democrat spokesman Buranat Samutharak said.Mr Buranat said the activities of Thaksin's supporters led by the red-shirt United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) were creating confusion in the country.Democrat spokesman Thepthai Senpong said the Election Commission (EC) had decided to postpone the ruling of the 258 million baht case because the information needed to be studied in detail.Mr Thepthai called on the EC to consider the case impartially without worrying about the pressure from the red-shirt UDD.
