Rebel suspects netted in Narathiwat sweep

Nine soldiers and rangers have been injured in two road bomb attacks in Narathiwat and Pattani.
Eight suspected insurgents have also been arrested after a search across 13 Narathiwat districts. They were not being sought for the bombings.
In the first bomb attack yesterday, six soldiers sustained minor injuries when a bomb buried under a road in Narathiwat's Rangae district exploded about 8.10am.
An unknown number of suspected insurgents hidden in the roadside bush detonated the bomb when a convoy of police and soldiers was returning from a search for insurgents at Kujing Ruepa village. The first car in the convoy carrying task force soldiers was hit and slightly damaged.
