The heads of the Vietnamese and Cambodian unions for women on April 13 vowed to boost co-operation among women, and the people in general, of the two countries, particularly in border provinces.
The commitments were made at a cordial reception for the visiting delegation of Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD) hosted by Truong Tan Sang, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee Secretariat.
Led by Mean Sam An, member of the Central Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party and executive member of the CWPD, the delegation is on a working visit to Vietnam from April 12-18.
During the function, Chairperson Mean Sam An informed the host of the latest developments in Cambodia, the role and activities of the CWPD in engaging women in the cause of national construction, as well as the results of her meeting with Party Central Committee member Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, Chairperson of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) earlier the same day. Politburo member Truong Tan Sang said the Cambodian delegation’s visit is highly valued and taken as a symbol of solidarity, traditional relationship and comprehensive co-operation between the people and women of the two countries.
