About 1,000 members of a multi-colour people group, led by physician Tulaya Sitthisomwong, a core leader of Protect the Nation People group, gathered in front of the 11th Infantry Regiment base in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district to provide moral support for the prime minister on Friday morning, reports said.

“We come to give moral support to the government and the military as we oppose the demand for House dissolution by the red-shirts,” Mr Tulaya said.

He said his group wants Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to continue working until the government’s term ends to restore peace and order in the country.Dr Tulaya also called on the government to enforce the law against red-shirts protesters who violate the law.

The gathering at the army base has caused police to close all inbound lanes of Pahon Yothin road from Wat Phra Si Maha Thad to Kasetsart University.
